1. The Desert Botanical Garden

If you are not sure if you are going to be back to Phoenix in the near future, seize the opportunity to visit the Desert Botanical Garden in Papago Park. This beautiful garden has so many types of plants there that it will make your head spin. The garden covers over 140 acres, 55 of which are cultivated, and has tens of thousands of plants and over a thousand volunteers.

It’s particularly nice in spring, and visitors may enjoy walking the trails and seeing the type of flora that is taken care of in this garden. 2. Heard Museum

The famous Heard Museum in Phoenix is a great cultural resource of the area, with many exhibits and galleries that are dedicated to the Southwest Indian people. See art and wander through the outdoor courtyards of this amazing museum while learning about the culture and history of the original people who lived in Arizona. There is an outdoor sculpture garden and you can also take a tour of the museum. Located at 2301 Central Avenue, the museum has tons of ongoing exhibits to offer with their Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibit in particular running through August 20, 2017. 3. Mystery Castle

Located at 800 East Mineral Road in Phoenix, the Mystery Castle is an interesting structure. Just south of downtown phoenix and located in the foothills of South Mountain Park, this castle was made of stone and other recycled pieces, which lends to its unique look. It’s actually quite famous and although it’s not a traditional castle, it’s worth checking out. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children– go see this odd structure for yourself!

4. Eat breakfast or lunch at Matt’s Big Breakfast.

Matt’s Big Breakfast is a place to visit if you want one of the best breakfasts you ever had, and with two Phoenix locations, you can have your pick of which you go to!
